Before and After the Game

Standby sits in The Belt, the alley off Gratiot between Broadway and Library. Steps away from Shinola Hotel, Hudson’s Detroit, and Campus Martius, and about a five minute walk from the Tigers at Comerica Park, and the Lions at Ford Field. Close enough to make first pitch. Far enough that you are not drinking in a crowd of foam fingers.

Come early for a proper cocktail and dinner from a kitchen that makes everything from scratch. Come after and let the traffic sort itself out while you sit with something stirred. Either way, we got you.

Parking. Park once. The Z Lot connects to The Belt, and we validate for three hours, on us. Game nights downtown are a racket. This part is not.

Hours. Wednesday, Thursday, Sunday 5pm to midnight. Friday and Saturday 5pm to 2am. Kitchen until 11 nightly. Sunday games start early. We do not. Plan accordingly.

Walk-ins. Most of the room is held for walk-ins, every night.

Also a short walk: the Fox Theatre, The Fillmore, The Detroit Opera House, Greektown, and Little Caesars Arena. If it happens downtown, we are on the way.
