Standby FAQ

A quick note because so many of you have been asking: Matty and his team will be at the helm of our kitchen moving forward. THIS IS NOT A POP-UP.

  • Do you accept walk-ins?

    Reservations are highly encouraged for dinner service. At the moment, we are not accepting walk-ins during our 5-11 PM dinner service. Our bar is open during the week until 1 AM and on the weekends until 2 AM.

  • How do I make a reservation?

    We take all reservations exclusively online via Resy or www.standbydetroit.com. If you do not see availability for your desired party size, please check another date. Reservations become available 60 days in advance, with new reservations released at 12 AM EST.

  • How long is my reservation dining time?

    We allocate a seating time of 1.5 hours for parties of two to four and 2 hours for parties of five or more.

  • Can I call/text or direct message you on Instagram to make a reservation?

    We highly encourage all reservations be booked online via Resy. Any request for a reservation via Instagram will be directed to Resy.

  • How do I make changes to my reservation?

    To change or cancel an existing reservation, or inquire about dietary restrictions or allergies, please adjust directly through Resy or send a message via Resy or text. We will hold your reservation for up to 10 minutes after the reserved time.

  • Do you offer parking validation?

    Yes! We offer up to 2 hours of free parking in the adjacent Z Garage. Scan the QR code at the host stand on the way out or find the link in our instagram bio.

    *Please note on event days, you will be charged the full event rate if your parking stay is longer than 2 hours. Please see the list of events below in which the event rate is in place.

  • Can I book a large group?

    Our largest availability online is for parties of 6. Large parties over 7 guests may inquire via email to events@standbydetroit.com. Separate reservations may not be combined to accommodate groups.

  • Can you accommodate dietary restrictions and allergies?

    Yes. Please specify in your reservation any dietary restrictions your party has, and our staff can identify appropriate offerings.

  • Do you offer complimentary desserts for birthdays or celebrations?

    No. However, we do offer an ample-sized dessert menu that can be ordered from. Please let our service team know of any special occasion so we can ensure it is recognized and noted to our entire team. Feel free to leave a note in your reservation if you would like to order a dessert with a candle ahead of time for an element of surprise. : )

  • Can we bring in our own dessert or wine? Decorations?

    We do not offer a corkage fee or allow any outside food. We kindly ask our guests not to bring decorative items such as balloons into the restaurant.
